Mentor Programme

  The mentors’ programme - it’s the unit of manners and methods, which help Erasmus student to integrate into Šiauliai University (ŠU) academic community, into the life of Šiauliai city as well as of whole Lithuania. ŠUSA / ESN-ŠU mentors’ programme is a voluntary initiative, which is supported by ŠU.

  The mentors’ programme is implemented by: administrative apparatus and mentors. The number of mentors is changeable because it depends on the number of coming international students.

  Administrative apparatus – it is ŠU international programmes and contacts’ service and international programmes’ coordinators in different faculties. There are also students who organize and administer mentors’ programme and coordinate projects which are associated with this programme’s development.

Aims of mentors:

1. To integrate ŠU international students into academic community.
2. To introduce international students to ŠU, city, famous places and Lithuanian culture, history and traditions.
3. To ease adaptation in Lithuania.
4. To develop intercultural cooperation and tolerance.

Tasks of mentors:

1. To help solve problems, which are connected with settlement and studies in Šiauliai.
2. To introduce international students with ŠU, its history and ŠUSA activity.
3. To organize excursions to the most famous places of Lithuania, to represent Lithuania.
4. To arrange students’ meetings and encourage their cooperation among themselves during studies in ŠU.
5. To interest and attract international student to participate in ŠUSA activity.
6. To give information about youth organizations in Lithuania.
